Adam continues to surprise
Adam and Dave came out at 7 pm and performed an acoustic 'Ghost in You' followed by 'Michelangelo' a few minutes later. They played 'Murder of One' 'Long December' and a couple of other Oliver Tree songs. The curtains of the 'Medicine Show' opened and all 20-25 members of the 3 bands were on stage, a truly eclectic group. Most Oliver Trees remained on stage, singing or playing background, with Augustana switching in. It was truly amazing to see the blend of musicians working together, showcasing different music genres. Michael Franti then appeared with his hip-hop reggae band and really energized the crowd. Adam, wearing shorts and a cut-off tee, can sing country-rock and reggae, showcasing a true spectrum of music. The musicians played every instrument, even the kitchen sink, with Adam playing piano on a commode and almost naked people jumping out of boxes. Everyone was in a great mood, with no egos flying, just a genuine appreciation of other musicians' talents. Adam thanked everyone, highlighted the charity organizations for the evening, and ended with 'His favorite song ever written' which is 'This Land is your Land'.
